Excursions from Dubai / Sharjah / Ajman & Ras Al Khaimah
Sample the historic sites and vibrant cosmopolitan life of Dubai on this comprehensive tour. The tour starts with a photo-stop at the famous landmark of Dubai, Burj Al Arab. Proceed to Jumeirah, the picturesque palace and residential area of Dubai, also home to the famous Jumeirah Mosque. The tour continues to Al Bastakiya, the old part of Dubai, to reach the museum located in Al Fahidi Fort. All aboard the Abra (water taxi) to cross the Creek to the spice souk. On your return, there is time to shop in the most famous landmark of Dubai – the gold souk.
Experience the nostalgia of old Dubai during a walk through the heritage sites. We start in the old district of Al Bastakiya, with its narrow lanes and tall wind-towers (Barajeels). Continue to the Dubai Museum, located in Al Fahidi Fort and stroll through the Old Souk before crossing the creek by abra (water taxi). From the Spice Souk, we continue our walk to Al Ahmadiya School. Established in 1912, it was the first regular school in Dubai. Our last stop is in the Gold Souk where you can practise your bargaining skills.
Experience the new Dubai during this tour with a difference. Driving down Sheikh Zayed Road admire the glittering high rises en route to Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a beautiful recreation of an Arabian style market place. After a photo stop at the iconic Burj Al Arab your drive continues to Palm Jumeirah, a fully reclaimed, palm shaped island that is home to the magnificent Atlantis, The Palm. After a photo-stop, continue to Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski slope in the region, offering fresh snow all year around. Our final stop will be at the base of what is currently the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai. Here you have time to admire the Dubai Fountain, a spectacle of lights and sound and one of the world's largest performing fountains.
Experience the traditions and heritage that shaped Dubai. Visit Majlis Al Ghoraifa, built in the mid-1950's as a summer retreat for the late Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Rashed. Stop at Al Bastakiya area to admire the old wind-tower houses. Stroll through the renovated old Souq at Bur Dubai. Abra ride (water taxi) to reach Sheikh Saeed House, where we cherish a rare collection of old photographs, coins and stamps. At the Heritage Village we witness the old traditions come alive.
This tour will take you to Sharjah, the 'Pearl of the Gulf'. We start with a photo-stop at the magnificent Al Buhaira Corniche Mosque and proceed to the largest mosque in Sharjah, the King Faisal Mosque. We then visit the renovated Fort of Sharjah, former residence of the ruling family originally built in 1820 and continue the tour with a walk to the heritage area or Sharjah's 'Old Town'. After a stroll through the restored traditional market Souk Al Arsa, visit Bait Al Naboodah for a glimpse of a traditional family home and typical Arabian Gulf architecture. Before returning, you have time to explore Souk Al Markazi - a treasure trove of carpets, jewellery and handicrafts.
Explore Sharjah, the cultural capital of the United Arab Emirates with its varied history and heritage. One of the Jewels on this tour is the Islamic Civilization Museum. Several galleries display carefully restored artifacts from around the Muslim world, celebrating Islamic contribution to the World Heritage. Continue to the Heritage area and visit the Bait Al Nabooda, former residency of a prominent pearl trader of yesteryears, an excellent example of old gulf architecture. A short stroll brings you to the Al Eslah school where you will experience school life as it was over 70 years ago. After visiting this first school in town, you will spend some time in the oldest souk in the city, the Al Arsa Souk.
Experience a visit to UAE's fabulous East Coast and Hatta. Our first stop is the magnificent Lehab sand dunes. We proceed to Hatta to pay a visit to the Heritage Village. Entering the UAE's longest tunnel carved straight through the mountain, we reach the coastal village of Kalba. In Kalba, we stop at Khor Kalba, a reserved area famous for its mangrove marsh. We then proceed to visit Sheikh Saeed House that bears witness to an exciting past. In Fujairah stop at the renovated 17th century Fort built on a hilltop overlooking the old village of Fujairah. On our return, we stop to browse around the lively 'Friday Market' set in the midst of the mountain landscape.
The tour begins with a drive through the lush oasis of Al Dhaid, renowned for its fruit and vegetable plantations. Then onto Masafi, and the picturesque Hajar mountains before reaching the village of Dibba, for a wander around the small port. The drive continues along the coast, through fishing villages. During your lunch break enjoy a relaxing swim in the Indian Ocean. You drive to Al Badiyah, the oldest mosque in the Emirates. In Fujairah you stop at the renovated Fort. Before returning, there is a last stop at the oasis of Bithnah and time to browse around the 'Friday Market' in Masafi.

This tour will take you to four of the seven Emirates. Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah will surprise you with their unique natural beauty. Your first destination will be the the Maritime Museum that celebrates the region's maritime heritage and which is based in Sharjah, the cultural capital of the UAE. During a visit of the Heritage area you get time to browse through the traditional Souk Al Arsa before you will have your next visit in Ajman, the smallest Emirate. After a photo-stop at the beautifully restored Fort. Drive north along the coast to reach the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain where you visit the old Fort, a former seat of government and residence of the ruling family. After a visit at Falaj Al Mualla where you will learn about the ancient irrigation system dating back to 500 B.C., we will stop at a Camel race track. Last stop will be the fast developing Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah where you make a photo-stop at Jazirat Al Hamra, the country's last remaining traditionally built village and now a 'ghost town'.
Enjoy a great day out taking in the sights of the beautiful Garden City of Al Ain. The tour begins with a drive through the fascinating and ever changing desert scenery before reaching the Hajar Mountains. In Al Ain, step back in time at the Hili Gardens, famous for the archaeological excavations from the third millennium B.C. The tour continues with a visit of the Al Ain Museum and Al Jahili Fort. Learn more about the 'Falaj', the underground irrigation system during a stop at Al Ain Oasis before proceeding to the renovated Old Palace of H.H. Sheikh Zayed, the late ruler of Abu Dhabi and the late President of the U.A.E. Before leaving Al Ain, we stop at the hot springs at the foot of Jebel Hafeet and at the camel market.
Your tour begins with a drive to the outskirts of Abu Dhabi City where you will visit a modern wonder, the newly built Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Visitors can expect an enjoyable experience including awe inspiring information about the architecture of this opulent mega-structure, a fitting tribute to the late President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. From here, you drive to the unique Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, the region's first and only dedicated facility for falcons. Visit the well maintained exhibit section and learn about the different species of falcons then see some of the fascinating tools of a falconer's trade. At the treatment rooms a trained care-giver provides explanations on common ailments and their treatments. Next experience an enthralling show as a falconer displays his prowess and the falcon's range of hunting skills after which you will enjoy a brief photo opportunity with these graceful birds.
Discover the wonders of Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirates, known as the Arabian Jewel. Jebel Ali Port, the biggest man-made port in the world is one of the landmarks that we pass by on the way to Abu Dhabi. On arrival, the first destination is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. We then continue to the Women's Handicraft Centre. Admire the skill and dexterity of local ladies making traditional handicrafts. Enjoy a magnificent view of the city by driving along the beautiful Corniche and make a photo-stop at the Breakwater. We then visit the Heritage Village and journey to the past to explore the life before oil was discovered.
NOTES FOR THE TOURS
VEHICLES
Buses used for the excursions are of highest standard available. All the buses are air-conditioned and equipped with a microphone.
4WD vehicles used for the off-road safaris are air-conditioned with a maximum capacity of 6 passengers plus driver. Drivers are all qualified off-road professionals, first-aid trained and they carry mobile phones. All vehicles are equipped with seat-belts and passengers are requested to wear seat-belts at all times.
TOUR GUIDES AND OFF-ROAD PROFESSIONALS
All sightseeing tours are conducted by well trained, experienced multilingual guides. We are the first tour operator in the Gulf to initiate a Tour Guide Training Seminar to improve the standard of our tour guides.
REFRESHMENTS
Bottled mineral water and soft drinks are provided on board each 4WD vehicle. Meals are inclusive on all our safaris (except The Adventurer – no meals). Our sightseeing tours do not include meals and water/soft drinks (except Sinbad's Journey, Stable Tour, Mystic Musandam and Creek Magic).
SAFARIS
Our safaris involve off-road driving through sand dunes as well as off-road tracks in mountain areas. As the drive can be rough in certain given rugged areas we are unable to accept any pregnant women, persons with back or neck problems and/or children below 4 years of age.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS
Seats are not pre-allocated and therefore arranged on a first come first served basis
DRESS CODE
Lightweight summer clothing is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats or some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight. The United Arab Emirates has conservative dress traditions.
Swimwear should be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops and villages.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police or military installations are not allowed.
